THEME LORE: THE FORGE OF MORDOR – A Lord of the Rings Quest
Since the dawn of time, Middle Earth has been slowly formed by massive volcanic eruptions and seismic activity. Rivers of molten lava circulate below the surface. Ridges of jagged mountain ranges rise through the crust where tectonic plates collide. Poisonous mists curl and waft across the dark land and veins of liquid inferno ooze from a volcano known as Mt. Doom. This volcanic plain of shadow and death surrounded by jagged mountains is Mordor. During the Second Age of Middle Earth, a necromancer and successor of evil, Sauron settled into Mordor and built the Dark Tower, the Towers of Teeth and the Black Gate. He also discovered a pool of bubbling magma and built a Forge around it to advance his trade as a master blacksmith.

Creations of the Forge are believed to be infused with the “Dark Magic” of Mordor. The mystical powers of the Forge are fueled by magma deep beneath the surface of Middle Earth. The “Doom Magma” burns at 2500 degrees and contains a fine mixture of minerals, carbons, and gasses that generate a perfectly balanced metallurgy for hard and tough steel.

Sauron has built an army of evil denizens to unleash upon Middle Earth and they must be stopped! The Forge produces superior weapons and armor – a quality only matched by the expert craftsmanship of Elves and Dwarves. But where the armies of Sauron fuel their forge with destruction, the Elves and Dwarves use only what they must from Middle Earth’s eco-system, and weave life-giving magic into their tools of livelihood.
