Frequently Asked Questions

What is Mission Paintball?
Mission Masters Paintball Games are recreational woods paintball mixed with short storylines and objectives. A Mission Paintball Game is commonly made up of 8 timed segments (or missions), each 20 minutes long with 15 minute breaks in between. Players are divided into teams and play against each other to complete specific objectives within time limits for score. Added to the game are themed field locations, props, and special characters. The outcome of some missions determines the storyline and/or roles for successive missions.

What makes Mission Paintball Games different than Scenario Paintball Games?
Scenario paintball games are usually large-scale role-palying events played over the course of 8 to 36 hours and follow a specific storyline or theme. Scoring is generally similar as awarded for completing missions, objectives, eliminations, and the like. The big difference is you will spend more time wandering a very large playing field trying to hook up with your friends than battling the other team or completing missions. You begin teamed up with your friends, but eventually get split up through elimination. You re-enter the playing field with new orders and a new group of players while your friends are long gone.

In Mission Masters Paintball Games, each "mission" is usually 20 minutes long with short breaks in between to regroup with friends, re-arm, and prepare for the next mission. Opposing team objectives are close or overlapping to ensure lots of action. You will enjoy the same action and achievements with your friends for as many missions and objectives as you like, so long as you can avoid elimination that is! Mission Paintball Games are more intense than Scenario Games as the action is cycled for each 20-minute mission segment. It's all action from start to finish for every mission segment. No wandering around and no slow times.

What are the Playing Rules?
Mission Paintball Games follow general paintball rules of elimination. If a player is hit anywhere on their body and the paint mark is the size of a quarter, or they build enough paint splatter to reach the size of a quarter, they are eliminated. Taking a hit on your marker or a game prop does not constitute elimination unless a player is obviously using a prop for a shield. An eliminated player walks off the field of battle to a "staging area". Eliminated players must wait at the staging area until the next mission before re-entering the playing field... usually about 15 to 20 minutes. So you're never out of play for very long. Eliminated players may use this time to re-arm, eat/drink, and prepare for the next mission.

Completing mission objectives are how the game is won or lost. The more mission objectives completed the better your chances of winning the game. Following each mission, points are awarded to each team based upon completing mission objectives. When all the missions have been played, the game is over. Both teams gather with the judges to hear the final score, and receive player/team awards (if offered). Score cards are included with each Mission Game package.
